Drop any file on the notch. It shrinks to fit.
ShrinkMac compresses PDFs, photos and videos to the size Gmail, email, an upload portal or WhatsApp will accept. It all happens on your Mac, so your files never leave it.
One payment, no subscription.
One tap for where it’s going
Tap Gmail (25 MB), Email (10 MB), Portal (2 MB), WhatsApp or type your own size, and ShrinkMac does the rest.
PDFs that pass the portal
That 18 MB bank statement comes out under the 2 MB the visa portal asks for. Text stays sharp and selectable.
Photos small enough to attach
Drop a batch of photos and get copies small enough to attach to one email. It also shrinks iPhone HEIC photos to a JPG anyone can open.
Videos that fit the chat
Shrink a screen recording or a phone video until it fits an email or a chat message.
Your original stays untouched
ShrinkMac saves a smaller copy next to the file you dropped and never touches the original. Keep the smaller copy, delete the big one when you’re ready. It never makes a file bigger.
Drop a whole folder. Every file shrinks at once.
Drop a folder or a pile of files on the notch and they all shrink in one go.
Many files, one drop
A folder of scans, a week of photos, a stack of screen recordings. One drop, one tap.
Rename on the way out
Clean up file names as they shrink. IMG_4821.HEIC can leave as passport-photo.jpg, or rename a whole batch with a pattern.
Lives in your menu bar. Opens at the notch when you drag.
ShrinkMac has two parts. The menu bar icon is always there. The notch only shows up while you’re dragging a file.
- 1
The menu bar icon is home base
Pick a file, see your recent shrinks and change settings. It works on every Mac.
- 2
Drag a file and the notch opens
The notch stays hidden until you drag a file. Then it stretches open into a drop target with your destination buttons.
- 3
Drop it, and the notch is gone
Drop the file on a button. ShrinkMac shrinks it and the notch closes again.
No notch? On Macs without one, or on an external monitor, a pill drops from the top center of the screen instead.
ShrinkMac vs web converters
Free web converters ask you to upload your passport scan, contract or tax form to someone else’s server. Most also cap the free plan with daily limits, file size limits, or both, and the paywall tends to appear halfway through a job.
ShrinkMac does the same work on your Mac. There’s no upload, no account and no waiting on Wi-Fi. Pay once and it’s yours, with no limits.
Many free converter sites are also covered in ads: pop-ups, banners and download buttons that aren’t your file. ShrinkMac has no ads.
| Question | Web converters | ShrinkMac |
|---|---|---|
| Where your file goes | Someone else’s server | Stays on your Mac |
| Needs Wi‑Fi | Yes, to upload | No |
| Big videos | Upload the whole file first | Nothing to upload |
| A folder of files | Varies by site | Drop the folder, rename on the way out |
| Limits | Daily limits, file size limits, or both | None |
| Ads | Often pop-ups, banners and fake download buttons | None |
| Paying | Paywall halfway through a job | Once. No subscription. |

FAQ
Do my files get uploaded anywhere?
No. ShrinkMac compresses and renames your files on your Mac. Your files don’t go to our servers or anyone else’s, and you don’t need an account.
Where does ShrinkMac live on my Mac?
In the menu bar. The icon there is home base: pick a file, see your recent shrinks and change settings. The notch stays hidden and only opens as a drop target while you drag a file, then disappears again.
Does my Mac need a notch?
No. The menu bar icon works on every Mac. On a Mac without a notch, or on an external monitor, a pill drops from the top center of the screen when you drag a file. ShrinkMac needs macOS 14 Sonoma or later, on Apple Silicon or Intel.
What can it shrink?
PDFs, photos and videos. Drop one file, several files or a whole folder.
Can I choose how hard it compresses?
Yes. In Settings, pick a compression level for photos from 0% (best quality) to 90% (smallest file), in steps of 10. ShrinkMac keeps it between launches. Email and Portal start from your setting and only go lower if the file still doesn’t fit.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Every action works with Wi-Fi turned off. You only need a connection once, to activate your licence.
What if it doesn’t work for me?
Email us within 14 days of buying and we’ll refund you in full. No questions.
